Worcester Musical Theater Company’s new show in Swan to mark 10 years

A POPULAR music extravaganza that has raised over £ 100,000 for charity will celebrate 10 years on stage next month.

The Worcester Musical Theater Company is preparing to light up the Swan Theater once again with a new show called Happy Together, which runs November 9-14.

Having been unable to perform in 2020 due to the pandemic, the show will mark the company’s 10th anniversary, having made its first appearance at The Swan in 2010.

Happy Together presents music and dance medleys featuring the Beach Boys at the Spice Girls and Freddie Mercury at the Four Tops. Students from Claines CE Primary School and Wilden All Saints CE Primary School will also participate with Harlequin Stage School.

The Worcester Musical Theater Company will continue to raise more funds for charity by supporting the Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club and the Royal British Legion, which are celebrating their centenary. Both performances on Saturday will also celebrate the lives of beloved fans of the show Fran Fishwick, Steve Cook, Paul Bellamy, Edie Glover, Carole Langford and Doreen Pritchard.

Evening performances from Tuesday to Friday start at 7:30 p.m., Saturday morning at 2:00 p.m., Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday morning at 4:00 p.m. A poppy fall will take place during each show. The One Off Performance Society, also based in Worcester, will perform an extract from Titanic, The Musical during the Saturday performances. The group formed in 2012 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

Show Director Val Knight said, “Our cast and crew worked hard to produce an action-packed and fun performance featuring fabulous music, thrilling songs and dance mixes with comedy and heartwarming moments along the way.

“There is something to delight every member of the family in this long awaited 10th anniversary show. ”
