Theory Design creating an interior for a custom home in Fort Myers

An Internet search for “horse country homes” yields countless images of cottage or farmhouse style residences beyond the fields of majestic creatures. When a busy young family decides to move into one of these residences, it may be necessary to find original inspiration to reinvent the property. That’s the approach Theory Design VP of Design, Ruta Menaghlazi, and Principal Interior Designer, Paula Myette, are taking to Seagate Development Group’s custom home, innovating this month off Daniels. Parkway and Palomino Lane in Fort Myers.

Capitalizing on the secluded, grazed and wooded setting, combined with the family’s lifestyle, the leading company creates a modern, classic design with an upscale, comfortable look for over 5,700 square feet of living space. A timeless exterior color scheme, including white with black shutters and windows, a gray flat-tile roof, as well as anthracite and white cobblestones, were selected.

Entering through the double entry black iron and glass doors one will enter the grand hall where floor to ceiling windows connect the main living areas with panoramic views of the outside gardens and swimming pool. Iconic pieces like a grand piano and an open staircase with black metal balusters topped with a natural wood handrail will set the tone for everyday living and entertaining. Wide-plank European oak flooring and a vaulted ceiling with rustic wood beams will transition occupants into the great room which will feature a fireplace and media wall with an inviting section for movie nights. These light and warm finishes will continue into the adjacent kitchen where the most dramatic and luxurious features of the home will be defined by a black island, dove white perimeter cabinetry, black gas range and La Cornue hood with detailing. stainless steel, black plumbing for both sinks, and a ready-to-use fridge and freezer. Patio doors from the wet bar equipped dining area will lead to the covered veranda and outdoor living area where relaxation and entertaining will continue with an outdoor kitchen and dining area, spacious seating area featuring an outdoor fireplace, as well as a custom pool, sunbathing area and pergola-covered spa that will complement the wooded landscape and gardens.

Back inside, the junior master suite on the first floor will serve as the perfect retreat space for guests, while the master suite next to the grand foyer will be the owners’ sanctuary. They will have oversized windows with stunning views of the garden as well as direct access to the pool and spa. Their spa-like tub will feature a luxurious soaking tub, separate vanities, a seated makeup area, and a custom linen closet. There will also be a large walk-in shower with a floating bench and a rain-head shower system. The first floor ends with a private media room/den, plus space for the kids to call their own – an after-school study with lockers, lockers and a craft table.

The second floor will feature three children’s bedrooms, a small attic that will serve as a meeting place, and a covered balcony for a higher perspective of the tranquil landscape. When the kids’ friends are sleeping, they’ll enjoy a bunk room above the garage. A second laundry room will complete this floor.

“This home is thoughtfully designed for new owners – meeting all objectives and ensuring every square inch is used to its full potential for this active family,” Myette said.

In addition to the custom home, Theory Design creates interiors for Seagate Development Group’s model homes at Hill Tide Estates, model and custom homes at Talis Park, custom homes at Esplanade Lake Club, and upcoming projects at Quail West.
