The Wrexham Musical Theater Society will hold an event at Ty Pawb

The WREXHAM Musical Theater Society is making a comeback after a period of inactivity and hosting a ‘mixer’ later this month.

Having previously been based at their Riverside Studio Theater on Rivulet Road for nearly 40 years as the Wrexham Operatic Society, the group sold the premises and seemingly disbanded – until now.

In April this year, the company held an Annual General Meeting where a new Board of Directors was elected and has since worked hard to create a new plan for the future of WMTS.

A common factor in the philosophy of the newly appointed board is that the community should be at the heart of everything they do and with this in mind the band are hosting their first ever mixer at the Wrexham community center Ty Pawb.

Current Chairman Sion Edwards said: “Rejuvenating society and providing more opportunities for the people of Wrexham to engage in the arts has been our ultimate goal and in just two months we have made great strides to bring WMTS back to life. -to date for a 2022 hearing.”

“Community is at the heart of our philosophy and will be at the heart of the future of society, so we hope that many people in the city will join us on this journey.”

Everyone is welcome at the mixer, where future plans will be discussed and if interested, how you can join.

There will also be an open mic night for anyone who wants to sing, recite, play, talk or beat.

The Wrexham Musical Theater Society Mixer takes place on Saturday June 18 at 7:30 p.m.
