The Reagle Music Theater will return to live musical theater this month

The Reagle Music Theater of Greater Boston will present “Musical Theater Returns: Lights Up at Herter Park” on Friday, September 24 at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The rainy date is September 29. This return to live musical theater, after 18 months of dark, is the inaugural collaboration between Reagle Music Theater and Friends of Herter Park, the organization that oversees the preservation and continued use of Boston’s historic open-air amphitheater. – which once housed the famous Publick Theater – located at 1175 Soldiers Field Road.

Featured artists include beloved Norton and IRNE award-winning artists who have graced Boston-area stages for decades. Leigh barrett, Ben Choi-Harris, Jackson Jirard, Diego Klock-Pérez, Grace Olah, Katrina Pavao, Robert saoud, Jenna Lea Scott, Michael Skrzek, Devon Stone, Kira Troilo and Lisa Yuen will perform selections from In the Heights, Mary Poppins, Matilda, Singin ‘in the Rain and other beloved Broadway musicals. The creative team includes Linda Chin (Acting Executive Artistic Director of Reagle), Chris Brindley (Assistant Producer) and J. Kathleen Castellanos (Music Director / Keyboard), who also conducts a three-piece combo with bass and drums.

5 p.m. concert ticket holders can arrive early for an interactive family-friendly pre-show workshop at 4 p.m. designed to kick off the festivities with guided dance activities. 7:00 p.m. concert ticket holders can stay after the show to enjoy animated open mic sets from 8:00 p.m. and the spectators who make this region one of the most dynamic musical theater communities in the country.

The number of seats for the 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm performances of “The Return of the Musical Theater: Lights Up in Herter Park” is limited to 300 each. Tickets cost $ 30 for high-end amphitheater seats and $ 25 for side benches. Tickets are available for purchase online at DisplayTix4U (https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/56275).

All remaining seats, including on the lawn, are available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who choose to attend only the 8 p.m. open mic night. A suggested donation of $ 10 is required for entry. The 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances will be performed in ASL. The duration of each show is one hour without intermission. Proof of vaccination is required for all artists, staff, volunteers and guests 12 years of age and over. Wearing a mask is compulsory for all people entering the park this evening. Additionally, Reagle Music Theater will adhere to all local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines as they evolve.
