The Musical Theater Academy returns with an in-person summer crash course

The Musical Theater Performance Academy is officially back after a brief hiatus. This time with their Triple Threat boot camp, an intensive five-day in-person musical theater camp located in the heart of New York City. Designed for ages 13-18, this intensive provides the next generation of theater artists with a safe space to hone their craft and prepare for a future in the industry.

With masterclasses from Broadway professionals, including dance lessons, audition preparation and acting technique, these performers will become well-rounded performers who understand what it takes to “break into the business.” . This year’s instructors include Afra Hines (Funny Girl, Hadestown, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical), JJ Niemann (The Book of Mormon), Drew Gasparini (The Karate Kid), Joshua Burrage (Newises, A Bronx Tale). In addition to classes, students end the week with a professionally filmed self-recording audition, which will include live coaching with one of our instructors. Last but not least, no theatrical intensity is complete without a ticket to one of Broadway’s hottest shows!

The Musical Theater Performance Academy proudly offers affordable musical theater training in the heart of New York City. MTPA was founded in 2018 and opened with $10 dance classes in January 2019. Located in the heart of New York’s Theater District, MTPA is located to offer classes taught by Broadway artists and the best casting directors, agents, trainers and choreographers. Students learn how to collaborate with artists, build and maintain industry relationships, set professional goals, and understand the business side of the industry.
