Musical Theater West presents its first show of 2022! A USO performance by the Andrews Sisters is in jeopardy when they don’t show up shortly before the curtain. Fortunately, three serious stagehands are determined to keep the show going! The Andrews Brothers is filled to the brim with 30 songs made famous by the Andrews Sisters and other great artists of the era. Mistaken identities, crazy adventures and the music of an entire generation bring to light this wonderful Valentine’s Day of WWII heroes.

MTW favorites and seasoned Broadway performers make up this cast to deliver a hilarious and classic performance. Krystle Simmons (Peggy) is an award-winning singer, voiceover and actress who recently starred as Madame Montague in Invincible (Pat Benatar & Neil Geraldois). Other credits include The Christians, sophisticated ladiesand as the first woman in Memphis for MTW and other regional theaters. Jonathan AranaLawrence we’ll be making his MTW debut in this production, but you might recognize him from the nationwide tour of On your feet! with Miami Sound Machine, regional productions from In the heights, Sweeney Toddand Smokey Joe Coffeeor in the Warner Brothers film adaptation In the heights. Favorite MTW larry raben resumes his role as patrick of the 2008 production of The Andrews Brothers. His many other MTW roles include Sir Robin in spamlotLeo Bloom in The producersand Forbidden Broadway volumes I and II. David Engel (Max) joins us for his 16th show with MTW, following his roles in other productions including La Cage aux Folles, Sing in the rain, Kiss me Kate, and so many others. He and Larry are also recognizable outside of MTW from the New York Production of Plaid forever as good as Plaid Forever: The Movie.

The Andrews Brothers was written and created by Roger Bean. Musical and vocal arrangements by Roger Bean, Michael Borthand Jon Newton. Directed by Jeffrey Polk. Choreographed by Roger Castellano. Musical direction by Ryan O’Connell.

THE ANDREWS BROTHERS performances run from February 11 to February 27, 2022.

Performances take place at Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts6200 W. Atherton St., Long Beach.
