Sister Act at the Axminster Musical Theater in November

Axminster Musical Theater is gearing up for its upcoming musical Sister Act.

Taking place at Axminster Guildhall from Wednesday 16 November to 19 November at 7.30pm and with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Silvey Webber plays Deloris Van Cartier, a club singer whose life takes a surprising turn when she sees her gangster boyfriend Curtis and his henchmen shoot a man they believe to be weed.

She goes to the police and as part of the witness protection program, she is sent to the last place they think Curtis will look for her – a convent called The Holy Order of the Little Sisters. The mother superior played by Sarah Jane Smith is suspicious of the newcomer, but Deloris helps her sisters find their singing voice and, unexpectedly, rediscover hers. But with Curtis and his gang hot on her trail, can Deloris survive?

Based on the beloved film Sister Act, starring Whoopi Goldberg, the musical was a smash hit in the West End and on Broadway. It features music written by Oscar winner Tony and Alan Menken, which cites Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors among its credits.

The Axminster Musical Theater is delighted to present this fun musical at the newly refurbished Axminster Guildhall with a 12-piece orchestra and professional sound, lighting and costumes hired from Spotlight Productions in Peterborough.

Tickets are available at or by visiting Axminster Guildhall
