A CHARITY opera concert will take place at Worcester’s Guildhall this month.
Kieran and Valery Sherlock are hosting the event, with all proceeds going to Valery’s native Ukraine, to support ongoing efforts after the Russian invasion.
Mr Sherlock said: “I work full-time as a field archaeologist and will be the bass-baritone for the event and my wife is an academy-trained Ukrainian opera soprano.
“Luke Swatman is an amazing amateur tenor who works in traffic management but appeared on ‘The Voice UK’ in 2019, and Hannah Just recently studied opera at Leeds Conservatory.
“We also want to reiterate that this is a cause close to our hearts obviously with Valery coming from Ukraine.
“His mother is still in Ukraine and refuses to leave. We will donate all proceeds from the concert to orphaned children and young people there.”

The band rehearsed for the event at the Guildhall on Sunday June 12 in preparation for the upcoming event.
Mr Sherlock said: “While we were playing Luke opened all the windows in the Guildhall and sang down the High Street.
“It was amazing to hear and also caught the attention of many shoppers who were passing by and stopped to hear him play.
“We are so excited about this event and hope that many members of the community will also be interested.”
