Manchester United fans are convinced that Cristiano Ronaldo inspired NFL icon Tom Brady in a dramatic turnaround during his retirement.
As the battle for the top four continues, Ronaldo took center stage against Tottenham on Saturday with a sublime hat-trick. Brady witnessed this sensational performance first hand while attending Old Trafford with his son.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner met the United superstar on the pitch after the game, and it was during that conversation that Ronaldo pushed Brady for a comeback – or so the theory is on social media.

Returning for a second stint at United, Ronaldo has now scored 18 goals in 31 appearances this season. The hat-trick against Tottenham was just his second for United, 14 years after his first, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner shows no signs of stopping at 37.
Brady, meanwhile, ended his stellar NFL career earlier in the year. Citing “unfinished business”, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and former New England Patriots legend reversed the decision on his Twitter account 24 hours after dating Ronaldo.
Needless to say, it caused a storm on the popular social media platform – and ‘subtle’ digs at Lionel Messi.
Speaking to his 2.5 million Twitter followers, the 44-year-old said: “Over the past two months I’ve realized that my place is always on the pitch and not in the stands. That moment will come. But it’s not now.
“I love my teammates and I love my supportive family – they make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business.”
