El Paso Summer Musical Theater Presents “A Million Dreams” in Las Cruces July 9-10


El Paso Summer Musical Theater Intensive presents “A Million Dreams: A Collection of Songs that Celebrate the Dreamer in All of Us…” at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 9 and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at the Las Cruces Community Theater, 313 N Center -town from Main Street.

Tickets are $17 for adults; $14 for seniors, students, and military; and $10 for children. Tickets are available online at www.LCCTNM.org.

The show is “an imagined musical revue that explores that rarest and most powerful place, the space where we dream,” according to a press release. The show “finds its heartbeat in the best music from Broadway and beyond and its roots in cabaret, evoking a sense of intimacy and shared experiences.

A Million Dreams is the third collaborative production for the Youth Opera of El Paso and Actorspace’s El Paso Summer Musical Theater Intensive. Musical direction and vocal coaching is provided by Youth Opera of El Paso Artistic Director/Founder Kimberley Wolfenbarger-Nakamoto, with direction and choreography by Actorspace Artistic Director/Founder Greg Thompson (who is guest director at the Las Cruces Community Theatre). Pianist Patricia Ann Provencio (UTEP dinner theater) provides accompaniment. Production coordinators Courtney Alyce-Curtis and David Herring complete the 2022 production team.
