Binance CEO Says Cryptos Not Suitable For Avoiding Sanctions; Opera dives deep into Web 3

Chengpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by volume, tweeted that cryptocurrencies are “terrible at avoiding sanctions”. He said the reason is simple: “It’s traceable.

Although Binance said it would not ban Russian users from transacting on the platform, it would not accept transactions from cards issued by sanctioned banks. Meanwhile, the Opera web browser has added support for the Solana, Polygon, Ronin, Celo, Nervos DAO, IXO, and Bitcoin crypto blockchain networks.

The global crypto market cap rose 1.54% to $2.16 trillion as of 8:50 a.m. ET. However, global crypto volume declined by 3.63% to $112.34 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.

“Market leaders Bitcoin and Ether traded flat over the past 24 hours. Overall the market is down and in the red right now. This performance appears to be the result of Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and further signs of a deteriorating global economic environment,” said Gaurav Dahake, CEO and Founder of Bitbns.

Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s oldest cryptocurrency, was trading at $47,213.08, up 0.04% in the past 24 hours.

Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, was also trading up 1% at $3,407.32.

Among other major coins, Cardano (ADA) rose 1.36% to $1.20, Algorand (ALGO) 5.09% to $0.9504, Binance Coin (BNB) 3.54% to 446 $.25, Solana (SOL) was up 10.68% at $121.73, and Polkadot (DOT) was also trading up 2.52% at $22.66.

Today’s top gainer was Dotmoovs (MOOV), which rose 236.17% to $0.02242. The big loser was MYCE (MYCE), which fell 36.84% to $0.03663.

Dogecoin (DOGE) rose 2.17% to $0.1448. Its volume to market capitalization ratio is 0.04323. Rival Shiba Inu (SHIB) also rose 3.25% to $0.00002777.

Dogelon Mars (ELON) traded with a 0.3% gain at $0.0000001069, Floki Inu (FLOKI) climbed 1.66% to $0.00003708, while Samoyed Coin (SAMO) gained 4 .1% to $0.02261.

In the DeFi segment, YFI (yearn.finance) was trading with a gain of 4.13% to $24,064.93. Terra (LUNA), however, was down 0.05% at $106.59. In contrast, Avalanche (AVAX) gained 7.68% to $98.52, Uniswap (UNI) rose 11.63% to trade at $12.37 and Aave (AAVE) lost 1.45% at $221.21.
