AUSTRALIAN MUSICAL THEATER FESTIVAL Headliners and performance program announced


The Australian Musical Theater Festival (AMTF) is delighted to announce the star performers for the 2022 festival. Appearing in Launceston next May will be Paulini, Philippe Quast and Chloe Dallimore.

The Australian Musical Theater Festival is an unprecedented opportunity for musical theater enthusiasts, creators and industry professionals to come together, share, nurture and celebrate this wonderful genre. Held in Launceston, Tasmania, it includes a diverse program with opportunities to teach, collaborate, engage, perform, learn, and of course, enjoy. A non-profit event, the Festival is held annually to benefit the Australian musical theater industry.

The festival organizers are delighted to welcome Paulini, who rose to prominence thanks to the first season of Australian Idol, and went on to become one of the top Aria Charts, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Young Divas. In 2017 Paulini starred in The Bodyguard Musical, singing 17 tracks by Whitney Houston every night. She has also played roles in other musicals including Saturday Night Fever, Hair and Chess. Most recently, Paulini is back in the recording studio and on TV screens in The Masked Singer and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Philippe Quart will bring over 40 years of industry experience to the festival. Australian scenes and 17 years as a presenter of Play School in Javert in Wretched in the West End. In addition to a hugely successful stage career, he can be heard on over 15 cast recordings and has made numerous appearances in film and television.

Chloe dallimore is best known for her portrayal of Ulla, the Swedish blonde bombshell in The Producers-The New Musical Mel Brooks which earned her five awards, including the Helpmann Award 2005. Along with an incredible list of theatrical credits, she also performed in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Chloe is now an internationally trained and accredited Intimacy on Set (UK) Coordinator. And she is currently working on Broadway musicals, as well as productions for Netflix, Warner Bros, Fremantle, Channel 9 and Channel 10.

The headliners will be joined by other highly experienced industry professionals from across the country, including Robin McLeavy, Anne-Maree McDonald, Lisa Gormley, Freya List, Sian Kelly, Jennifer Peers, John O’Hara, Nicole Farrow, Amanda Hodder, Travis Hennessy, Jack Lark, and local legend John X. With even more great artists announced as the festival approaches.

Australian Musical Theater Festival Artistic Director Tyran Parke adds:

The 2022 Artist lineup brings an incredible depth of industry experience. The artists will share their in-depth knowledge across all facets of the musical theater industry and beyond. All powerful performers in their own right, having them all together will be magic!

And for the locals, and especially the students, to have such intimate access to this level of skill and experience is simply phenomenal.
